The present study aimed to identify the degree of self-regulation among a sample of faculty members who speak Arabic at the Abu Dhabi University. The study sample consisted of (99) faculty members Ph.D. and master's holders from scientific, social and education, management and humanities disciplines in University branches: Abu Dhabi and AlAin. The Arabian version of self-regulation scale standardized on the Emirati environment was applied, which consists of (26) items distributed on two areas: (a short-term self-regulation, a long-term self-regulation).
To detect the degree of self-regulation; the researcher calculated the arithmetic means, and standard deviations from the faculty member’s performance on the self-regulation scale. The results showed a high level of self-regulation with faculty members who speak Arabic at the Abu Dhabi University. It also showed that short-term self-regulation was average and long-term self-regulation was high. The study also found statistically significant differences between faculty members due to the variables gender, qualification in favor to Ph.D holders and Females. The results showed that there were no statistically significant differences between faculty members due to the variables: experience and specialization. The researcher recommended the importance of the academic community to be aware of self-regulation skill and to carry out more studies on self-regulation in the light of other variables such as self-awareness, self-efficacy, social and emotional competenceDownloads
