The Role of extra curricular activities in enhancing some current educational aspects among students of Nablus Governmental schools and means of improving them

This study aimed at investigating the role of extra curricular activities in enhancing some current educational aspects among Tenth grade students in Nablus Public schools and providing some possible methods to improving these aspects. Furthermore, the study aimed at exploring the role of students’ gender and their grades on evaluating the role of extra curricular activities in enhancing some current educational aspects. To achieve the objectives of the study, the quantitative and qualitative methods were used through administering a 39-item questionnaire among (917) male and female tenth grade students in Nablus city. The qualitative method was also used through interviewing (23) male and female teachers, to supplement the quantitative results. Results revealed a moderate total degree of evaluation among tenth grade students regarding the role of extra curricular activities in enhancing some current educational aspects and them means was (3.32) while the overall aspects scored a moderate score (3.11 – 3.56). On the other hand, there were differences in favor of the psychological roles, the social and moral roles as well. The results also revealed statistical significant differences in the means of students’ evaluation due to students’ gender whereas the differences were in favor of the female students, besides the similar significant differences due to students’ grades and the differences were in favor of students of the grade (90 %) and more. However, the results found that there were no statistical significant differences in the binary interaction between students’ gender and their grades.
