Abstract

This study aims at revealing the effect of “Introduction to Oral History in Teaching History” Course on the development of historical understanding skills and among tenth grade students at UNRWA schools in Jordan. To achieve the objective of this study, the researcher used the semi- experimental approach through implementing the case study on a sample of 62 students. The experimental group consisted of 30 students and the control group consisted of 32 students. The results of the study showed that there is a statistically significant effect for using  oral history in the teaching the subject of history and in the developing historical skills among tenth grade students at UNRWA schools in favor of  the experimental group. In light of the results, the researcher recommended the need to teach history in accordance to the Introduction to Oral History in Teaching History.
