The Degree that New Textbooks in the Basic Stage Fulfill Some Standards of Curriculum Development from the Point of View of Basic Stage Teachers in Jenin Governorate Schools

This study is aimed to know the degree that new textbooks in the basic stage fulfill some standards of curriculum development from the point of view of the basic stage teachers in Jenin Governorate schools. The study adopted the descriptive analytical method. The researcher build a questionnaire which consisted of 50 criteria, implemented on a sample of 197 teachers. The results showed that: - The textbooks fulfill the standards of curriculum development at the level of the (tool, goals and activities) domains in large degree, with averages 3. 44, 3. 68, 3. 65 respectively, while it came in a medium degree at the level of content and evaluation domains, with average 3. 24, 3. 17 respectively;- There were a statistically significant differences in the responses of the study sample at the level of the tool due to sex variable in favor of females, and due to experience years variable in favor of teachers who have experience 5- 10 years and more than 10 year; and,- There were statistically significant differences due to the variable of specialization which came in favor of teachers from other Specializations
In the light of these results, the researcher presented a set of recommendations to teachers, officials in the Ministry of Education and researchers.
