The Level of Knowledge and Application of Scientific Research Skills Among Master Students at the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at King Saud University

This study aimed at identifying the level of knowledge and implementation of scientific research skills among graduate students at the Curriculum and Instruction Department at College of Education in King Saud University. A sample consisting of 102 male and female students responded to a scientific research skills test. Test results indicated that the level of knowledge on 35% of the research skills came high, knowledge on 41% of them was average, and knowledge on 24% of them was low. In general, students’ research skills were described as not satisfactory. On the other hand, analysis of 69 research proposals, using a 28-item tool, revealed the implementation levels among the students of the research skills. Only 36% of the research skills were implemented at a high level, 61% at an average level, and only 3% at a low level. Recommendations and suggestions were provided based on the study results.
