The Degree of the Application of Strategic Planning by the College Deans in the Jordanian Universities and It’s Relation to the Organizational Culture of the Faculty Staff

This study aimed to identify the degree of the application of strategic planning by the college deans in the Jordanian universities and its relation to the organizational culture of the faculty staff. The researchers used the descriptive correlational design where the researchers relied on the questionnaire. The study population consisted of faculty members .A simple random sample consisting of 378 of the faculty members was chosen. The study found that the degree of applying strategic planning by colleges deans in the Jordanian universities from the faculty members viewpoint was moderate, and that the level of organizational culture of faculty members was also moderate. It was found that there is a positive and statistically significant relationship between the degree of application of strategic planning by the deans of colleges and the level of organizational culture in Jordanian universities. It was also found that there were no statistically significant differences (a ≥ .05) in the degree of applying strategic planning by the deans of colleges due to the variable of gender, university type, and there were differences due to the variable of experience, college type. There were statistically significant differences in the level of organizational culture of faculty members attributed to the variable of sex, college, and no differences attributed to the role of experience, and university type. The researchers recommended a set of recommendations, the most prominent of them entailed the need to pay more attention to the concept of strategic planning in Jordanian universities.
