A Descriptive Study on Khouzestani Arabic Accent and its Comparison with Eloquent Arabic Accent

Abstract

 

Recently, linguists and researchers pay extraordinary attention to the

survey of contemporary accents. This is because accent are related to the

standard languages. These studies have contributed to developing languages

and investigating aspects that have not been studied yet. One of these Arabic

accents which needs study is the Arabic accent in Khouzestan.

The purpose of this research is not to call for the use of the colloquial

language in our life, but to look into the change and development in the Arabic

accent in khouzestan and prove its eloquent status. In this field study, we

investigated the situation in Khouzestan and spoken Arabic accent there. We

dealt with phonetic, morphological and syntactic topics. We looked into this

accent and the changes it had citing examples for clarification, and referring

to the standard variety to show some shared aspects with the colloquial

variety in Khouzestan.
