Abstract

 

 

Today, many efforts are done to develop the education programmes in

our Arab world, in order to build effective bases for the teaching competency

development and to prepare for a new generation of teachers contributing

to their societies progress, The specialists proved that progress depends on

education; education has a certain role to play in development through forming

the frames for the different fields of development; This may be effective if we

give more interest to education, and to the elements of education (teacher,

learner, programmes) .

The success of the education process depends on the strong interaction

between its main elements since its importance and value are reflected in the

social and economic development of man to face civilization challenges. It

is, in our opinion, a major national strategy for all people of the world; a

necessity to build up contemporary nation.

There are many explanations for the educational process which depend

on their owners, their teaching philosophy, the main theme of their interests

and their social environment. There are, among educators who focus on

knowledge and information, and others interested in the personality growth

in learners, whereas, others exploit the process that influences the learners’

behaviours from varios angles. This research treats these three aspects:

teacher- learner- programme according to the competency approach.

The researcher discusses these aspects as the bases of education process

which are inter related and move as a whole. He tries to explain and analyze

each of them, pointing out that the education process was working in the past

within limited aims, which was not very fruitful as it restricted learners within

limited aims, without trying to encourage creativity.

This necessitates working on competency for having a creative teacher, a

student able to think and solve problems and a program which is both simple

and suitable for the education process.
