The Effect of Using Multiple Intelligence Strategy (MIS) on 5th Graders Academic Achievement in Mathematics and on their Attitudes towards Mathematics

This study was conducted to find out the effect of using Multiple Intelligence
Strategy (MIS) on the 5th graders achievement in mathematics and on their
attitudes towards mathematics. A total of 90 students participated in the study
distributed into two groups: (50) students in the experimental group and (40)
in the control group.
The study utilized an achievement test and questionnaire in addition to
the multiple intelligence questionnaire. The findings showed four domains of
multiple intelligence in the sample which are: Social Intelligence, Logical
–Mathematical Intelligence,
Verbal- Linguistic Intelligence, Solidarity –Interpersonal Intelligence.
It also showed that there is a statistically significant difference (α≤0. 05) in
5th graders’ achievement in mathematics due to teaching method, in favor of
the MIS. There was also a statistically significant difference (α≤0. 05) in the
attitudes of the students in favor of the MIS.
