Influencing Factors behind the Teachers’ Retaining in the Profession of Education in Irbid Area No.3

This study aimed at investigating the factors that affect the retaining of
teachers in the directorate of education in Irbid 3 area. To achieve this, a
questionnaire was developed by the researcher depending on the previous
literature and studies. A sample of (266) teachers (Male and Female) was
chosen.
It was found that the mean of the items of the whole interactions that
related to retaining of teachers (class, personal and family, social and
school) was (2. 538) in a high degree. The study also showed that there were
statistical differences at the level (0. 05) according to the gender variable at
social, family and personal, class and school factors, in favour of females.
In addition there were statistical differences at the level (0. 05) according
to the variable of experience at family and personal factors, in favour of
teachers who have an experience over (24) years, but there were no statistical
differences according to the social, class and school factors. Finally it was
shown that there was a relationship between the age variable and the class
factors at the level (0. 05) .
