Abstract

In his visit to the holy land ,Johannes Phocas described the mountains,

valleys ,cities , and villages which he visited ,in addition to describing the

religious and historical sites in these regions . He also talked about the

economical life , particularly trade and agriculture . Further more, he shed

light on healthy aspects especially in the city of Acre where he described its

contaminated atmosphere.

Johannes Phocas depended on some sources among which are the Holy

Bible and the writings of the Jewish historian Flavrus Josephus . At the end

of his journey ,he revealed the goal of that journey.
