The thesis of the famous scholar Muhyee El-Deen El-Barkawy (926-981)
in «Examples of Derivation» is considered one of the most valuable theses in
the field of derivation.
The thesis of the scholar El-Barkawy included specific topics in derivation,
which discussed the science of derivation in a unique methodology. El-
Barkawy>s methodology resembled no other methodologies in the field.
El-Barkawy decided to deal with the topics of derivation according
to what is different or similar about them. He also distinguished between
studying similar and different derivations.
El-Barkawy’s research with his derived examples came clear from what
so ever useless additions in deriving certain words. His study came also with
clear-cut explanations and illustrations, which are different from other earlier
studies that only used the conventional routine narrations by other scholars.
El-Barkawy added more comparisons between Arabic derivations and their
equivalents in the Turkish language.
