Amani Al- Jynaidi is of the third generation of Arab short story writers
in Palestine. Her literary work is regular and successive. Her collection “A
clever Man and Stupid Women” was the focus of the study titled “A Vine
Tree in the Shadow of Haram”. This collection makes us feel that she has
surpassed the trial stage and has established good foundations in the body
of her fictional product. Thus, she has possessed what distinguishes her from
other writers in technical construction markers. Her style is polished and her
language is activated.
Although she makes a balance between colloquial and standard Arabic,
she can attract readers by her language.
The characters in her fiction are from the local environment and naturally
developed. They show some struggle springing from either the surrounding
or the upbringing. The traditions, politics and changes occupy a conspicuous
space in her fiction.
All that creates a complementary revolution in her texts. This made her
advocate the needy, society, and environment unequivocally. Women in her
fiction are always active, but refkcted her changing status. She depicted the
ending of her stories skillfully. Her endings and topics were various but some
are open ended while others are close- ended. Nevertheless, the ending in
both cases reflects wit and awareness on the part of the writer.
