Abstract

The Agricultural sector is one of the most important streams of the national

economy as it plays an effective role in increasing investment and job creation.

Although there are potential natural and human resources to achieve this

development and despite the limited means available, this sector continues to

perform normally. The study examined the agricultural potentials in the Gaza

Strip and the researcher identified the challenges facing the growth in this

sector during 1968 – 2006. The study came to a number of results that hinder

agricultural growth. Finally, a number of recommendations were suggested

to help preserve this promising sector from deterioration.
