The Extent of Involvement of the Local Community in Providing Support and Assistance to School Administrations in the City of Hebron from the Perspective of School Administrations and Parents Councils

This study aimed at determining the extent of involvement of the
community in providing support and assistance to school administrations in
the city of Hebron and the impact of such participation on the effectiveness
of these administrations in the development and upgrading of the level of
practical instruction and learning. The sample study consisted of all directors
of secondary schools in Hebron in addition to the parents, councils in these
schools. There were (45) male and female directors and (115) members of the
parent's councils.
The researchers used the descriptive method in their research in
addition to a questionnaire to measure the extent of community involvement
in supporting the city of Hebron school administrations from the point of view
of directors and parent's council. The questionnaire consisted of (46) items
distributed to two areas which are:
First, what is the extent of the community involvement in supporting the
secondary school administrations in the city of Hebron from the administration
level? And second, what is the extent of support of the community for the
secondary school administrations in the city of Hebron from the technical
side. The tool of the study was constructed with the help of the literature and
previous studies on this issue. The tool was also tested for validity, reliability
and suitability.
The results showed that the extent of the involvement of the community
in support of the school's administrations in the secondary schools of Hebron
from the view point of administrations and parent's councils was generally low
reaching a degree of (2.72) while the degree of support in the administrative
issues was higher than that in the technical issues with the low range of (2.75)
to (2.71) in the technical domain.
