The Jewish State (Israel): Origin of the Term and Its Impact on the Palestinian Cause
Keywords:
The Jewish State, Israel, Origin of the Term, Impact, the Palestinian CauseAbstract
The issue of Israel, which has been raised by the Israeli leaders in recent
times as a Jewish state is considered as the most serious issue in the Middle
East; because it threatens the fate of the Palestinian issue, and will completely
demolish it especially if the Israelis implement it on the ground and make it
real, without doing anything to face the Arab official regimes.
In fact, speaking about the (Jewish State), was not initiated only in these
statements, but was preceded by what has been declared in modern history
by Zionist leaders' statements particularly in the second half of the nineteenth
century. This was also what the British politicians issued during the first half
of the twentieth century, as in the Balfour Declaration in 1917, and the report
of the Royal Commission (Peel commission report) in 1937, and finally the
UN Security Council Resolution 181, issued by the General Assembly of the
United Nations in 1947.
In our view, the seriousness of the statements of the Israeli leaders
regarding the Jewish State will cause a great harm to the whole Palestinian
issue and all its files, and will empty it of all its content, and will make the
Palestinians and their expected state a minor issue that has no value in the
Middle East.
