Abstract

Almirdasi State is an Arab state which was established by Saleh Bin

Mirdas in Aleppo in 417 Higri according to the Shiite doctrine. It was then

rules by six princes in addition to Saleh Bin Mirdas. These were Naser bin

Saleh, Thamal bin Saleh, Mahmoud Bin Nasr Bin Saleh, Sabeq bin Mahmoud

bin Nasr bin Saleh bin Mirdas, Attiya bin Saleh, Nasr bin Mahmoud bin Nasr

bin Saleh.

The Mirdasi state in Aleppo was a frontier state which is situated in the

middle position of the Abbasids, Alvatmyinn and the Byzantine. Thus, it was

greatly affected by the wars that happened during that period.

The Mirdasi state also played a vital role in fighting the Byzantine once

it was strong but when it was weakened during the rules of some princes

who were interested only in keeping their rule, it became subsidary to the

surrounding states. It even paid money to the Byzantine and Alvatmyinn and

later to the Seljuks.
