Poverty in the Poetry of Abu- Achammaqmaq
Keywords:
Poverty, Abu- Achammaqmaq, poetry, expressions, reflections, manifestation, imageAbstract
This research aims to picture the social life prevailing during late
Umayyad and early Abbasid periods as described by Abu- Achammaqmaq,
a poet and a veteran of the two eras. His poetry reflects the upheavals of
poverty of the desperate working- classes which constantly called for a life of
equality and decency.
Abu- Achammaqmaq focused on the stations of poverty that have taken
him to many ways and methods of discourse that seemed in some of its aspects
to reach the point of obscenity to match the scale of the suffering or horror
being experienced by the poor and the powerless.
