Textual Analysis : Identifying the Relation between the Concept and the Connotation in Modern Linguistics

Textual analysis is one of the most important topics of concern in the
study of language. Thus, the researcher in this study discusses the issue of
the text. It clarifies the concept and the ideas of the text especially form a
linguistic perspective. It deals with the text as one coherent harmonious unit
and discusses the function of unity and coherence and how they lead to the
interdependence in the semantic relations of the text.
The researcher also discussed the grammatical conditions of the text’s
cohesion focusing on the reference phenomenon identifying its elements
especially the indicative and referral ones.
Reference is known to be one of the components of unity. The researcher
therefore illustrates this phenomenon through the discussion of some texts.
Finally the researcher stated the most important findings of the research. The
researcher used a lot of old and new references in his study.
