“Al- Qawa’ed Al- Sughra” (The Concise Grammar) by Ibn Hisham Al-
Ansari is one of the books which summarizes Arabic Syntax. Iz Al- Deen bin
Jama’h Al- Kanani was interested in this book on which he wrote several
exegeses. The researcher found two of them. Hence, the study is about one
of them: Hada’iq ‘Al- ‘Araab fi Shareh Qawa’ed Al- I’raab” (Gardens of
Arabs in Explaining the Rules of Grammar) . The exegesis includes various
reference books on syntax, linguistics, interpretation and literature – a fact
which encouraged the editor to study the methodology of the exegesis to
explain his viewpoints on the syntactic issues and to interpret some linguistic
and syntactic phenomena appropriately.
