Abstract

This study aims at studying the attitudes of patients who are treated in

the public sector hospitals in Irbid governorate towards Jordanian drugs and

imported drugs from well – known European companies.

A simple random sample consisting of (175) patients, withdrawn from

hospitals records which form the population study, to measure their attitudes

towards Jordanian and imported drugs.

The study concludes the following findings: Patients stated that

the perceived value of the drugs is the first priority for them without any

consideration for the manufacturing place. Usually, the patient depended

on the opinion of their doctors regarding the quality of medicine. Thus, the

patient is ready to pay a higher price to get a better medicine.

The study recommended that Jordanian companies must make

a reconsideration for their pricing policies to match the perceived value.
