The Role of Total Quality Management Criteria in Developing Education Institutions

Quality in education has become an important issue that has recently
received increased attention by those who are concerned with education in
different countries, due to the growing pressures and criticisms which this
sector has been faced.
This study aimed to declare the concept of TQM in education by discussing
various intellectual visions on TQM criteria along with justification for their
application and adjustment. The study has surveyed major contemporary
models for TQM in education (United States, Japan, England and Kingdom
of Saudi Arabia) .
The study found that the research hypothesis that quality standards
have an effective role in the development of educational institutions and the
preparation of qualified cadres of the labor markets has been confirmed.
The researcher has developed an integrated proposal which helps any
educational institution to identify its progress and imbalances at quality
system the researcher also gave several recommendations to enable quality
control in education and to ensure better educational practices to increase
efficiency. This has been done by developing an integrated strategy for TQM
through identifying its objectives, drawing policy and procedures necessary
to ensure the achievement, and emphasizing the importance of monitoring
and continuous evaluation of the plan designed to ensure that the plan was
implemented efficiently and effectively.
