The Degree of Application of Supervision Methods at the Directorates of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in the Northern Districts of Palestine as Perceived by the Educational Supervisors

This study aimed at identifying and recognizing the degree of practicing
the supervision methods as perceived by the educational supervisors in the
educational directorates of the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher
Education in the northern districts of Palestine .The population of the study
consisted of (132) male and female supervisors: (86 males and 46 females).
The researcher used a questionnaire which consisted of (70) items
distributed on (7) domains. To ensure validity and reliability, the questionnaire
had undergone the necessary processes and showed a total reliability
coefficient of (0.9562) , by using Cronbach’s Alpha.
This study showed the following main results: 1.
The degree of practicing the seven supervision methods was very high on
the seven domains and on the total degree, except for the classroom visits
which had a high degree. The action research domain showed a medium
degree.
2. There were no significant differences according to the degree of practicing
supervision methods on all domains except for the educational handouts
as these showed significant difference in favor of the basic elementary
supervisors (1- 4)
3. There were no significant differences on all supervision methods, as due
to the supervisor’s qualification and gender.
4. There were significant differences according to the domains of exchanging
classroom visits, model lessons and educational handouts, and the overall
degree is due to the supervisor’s experience and in favor of those who
have experience of (5- 10) years or more.
5. There were significant differences on the domain of model lessons as due
to the directorate of education variable (place of work) and in favor of
Nablus and Jenin directorates of education.
