Investigating the Fraudulence Claims against Imam Al-Bukhari’s Narration of Al-Dhuhali

Some Islamic scholars have accused Imam Al-Bukhārī of fraudulence in his narration of Al-Dhuhalī due to a conflict that had occurred between the two.
This study is aimed at investigating this claim, its validity, and the scholars’ opinions about it, by discussing the narrations of Al-Bukhārī on Al-Dhuhalī themselves.
The study is divided into an introduction, three discussions, and a conclusion. The first discussion is dedicated to the definition of fraudulence, its sections, and verdict it, in addition to introducing Imam Al-Bukhārī, Imam Al-Dhuhalī, and the conflict that arose between them. The second discussion focuses on the narrations of Al-Bukhārī on Al-Dhuhalī. While the third discussion is dedicated to responding to the fraudulence claims.
The conclusions of this study absolve Imam Al-Bukhārī of fraudulence in his narration on Al-Dhuhalī, and thus clarify the great status of Imam Al-Bukhārī and his book, al-Jami’ as-Sahih.
