Transformations in the Forms and Content of Islamic Education in Contemporary Turkey

This study aims at demonstarting the most important changes regarding the forms and contents of Islamic education at the regular schools in the Republic of Turkey. The study showed a number of legislative and executive measures taken by the state in this regard. The prioirty was given to adding additional lessons in the subjects of Islamic education and Arabic language at different educational levels, as well as the expansion of the educational stage in the religious schools to include the intermediate stage, after the adjustment of the educational ladder of the schools stages.
