Abstract

The construction of the story is difficult, which requires a great artistic effort and deep experience in the methods of storytelling, and this is due to several reasons, including: short form and limited time and environment. And 'to identify the profile of the personality through the short story is more difficult to identify the character through the novel, because the novel allows the personality to reveal itself clearly and enable the narrator to follow their development and enter the depths and hidden secrets and reveals their weaknesses and strength. The aim of this research is to study the structure of personality in the Jordanian short story. It attempts to present an analytical reading of some of the characters' models in “the writings of the new millennium”. The selected groups are distinctive in their language, subjects and contents. as the character is the active factor in the story. The research consists of three topics. The first topic was to study the classification of personalities and the second topic discussed some of the personal models in the selected models of Jordanian narrative groups, in terms of positive and negative characters, as well as personalities. The research was based on an analytical study of storytelling groups, analyzing the element of the place to reveal its artistic value. The group stories covered various descriptive sections that showed patterns of characters. The research was to study the personality in selected models of stories through analyzing the texts and showing their artistic and aesthetic dimensions and revealing ways of constructing them.
