Keywords:
Misappropriation. Quran Recitations, Diacritics, ListeningAbstract
The references on Arabic language describe the concept of Vowel Reduction as hastiness in reciting vowels. The books on Quraninc recitations explain that this vocal phenomenon is adopted through listening and viva voce. This phenomenon is more common in Quran recitation than in ancient Arabic poetry. Authors and linguists discussed this phenomenon trying to explain, clarify, criticize and accredit it. However, the importance of this study stems from the researcher’s observations on the lack of any research paper on this topic solely. This phenomenon is discussed only under sections of different books and references specialized in Arabic language or Quranic recitations. This study is a collection of the scattered information and references on this topic. It also aims at serving and studying Arabic Language in accordance with the explanations and knowledge of ancient scholars and the research of modern scholars.
