Abstract

The linguistic clues that are used in Arabic literature are of big importance, as it plays a role in delivering a variety of dimensional indications related to the way it is used in sentences and phrases. Amongst these linguistic clues are the prepositional and conjunctional clues that take part in forming sentences, and how they deviate from one meaning to another according to their contextual use, which confirms their deep influence in the alteration of meaning, and how they define the context where they have been used. Therefore, prepositions and conjunctions have various contextual meanings. Moreover, they form links between sentences and phrases. Their meanings change according to the context in which they are used. This point is the main focus of this research, with which we uncover the reasons of Arab’s use of prepositional and conjunctional clues and tools, and what are the different opinions about it, trying to establish a theory for the meanings value of using them in different contexts.
