Translation Patterns of Verbs from Farsi into Arabic (A Critical Study on Translations of Saadi Shirazi‘s Golestan)

Verbs are one of the most important linguistic units in texts, especially the literary texts. The semantic feature of the text relates to verbs directly or indirectly. Anyway, translation of these main linguistic units - verbs - and indicating their semantic aspects accurately is a great challenge to texts translators. Golestan as a rich literary treasure came into the Arab world and found a special place by translation. There are four translations from Golestan that made it perdurable: Mokhalla, Forati, Hendawi and Badawi. The aim of this research is to study the translation of verbal units in these four translations. The approach of the research is descriptive analytic. The findings demonstrate Arabic translations for Golestan who have used different kinds of styles and techniques to provide verbs’ meanings. These creative techniques include some important parts: creativeness in Arabicizing ownership concept, phrasal verbs and creative norms breaking for stating verbs.
