The Agricultural Extension and Stations Role in the Development in Palestine

Based on the important role of the agricultural sector in development in
Palestine and the efficient role of the extension service, this research deals
briefly with the role the extension service in Palestine plays in the agricultural
development. A number of agricultural studies which the agricultural
institutions and workers benefit from is being carried out in these stations.
Relevant Government and private institutions pay more attention to
extension service and implement it in agricultural development through
making farmers aware of technology and assisting them to increase the
agricultural product.
The extension service has a vital role in the spreading of the agricultural
technology appropriate for the local conditions and in promoting and
improving the skills of the farmers, advisors as well as technicians.
Agricultural education is also considered the main channel of expertise
and information. It aims at preparing a qualified staff of technicians in the
field of agricultural development who would carry out studies and research
to develop agriculture in Palestine.
