Objectives: It aims to address issues such as inadequate facilities and services, traffic congestion, and the need for the rehabilitation of historical buildings with aesthetic and functional value.
Methods: The study uses an inductive approach, combining insights from previous literature with descriptive, analytical, and field methods, including direct observation of the region.
Results: The findings highlight the key features of spatial identity, identify the problems related to the lack of facilities and services, and propose strategies for maintaining, preserving, and rehabilitating historical buildings in line with sustainable development principles.
Conclusions: The research underscores the importance of preserving the aesthetic, historical, and artistic aspects of historical buildings to ensure their continuity for future generations. This approach contributes to comprehensive urban improvement, including architectural and structural maintenance, and helps safeguard traditional design values, thereby supporting sustainable development.
