Abstract

The feminist Arab American novel is an integral part of Arab

Anglophone Literature written in English by Arab authors who mainly

live in UK and US. The paper concentrate on Mohja Kahf’s «The Girl

in The Tangerine Scarf» to explore the issues of identity and belonging

in their writings. This novel discusses how a person could be an Arab,

American and Muslim simultaneously. Other issues are discussed such

as: what is religious or cultural identity? What are the circumstances

of Muslims’ belonging in America? What about Arab American Muslim

Women? What is the Attitude of Western Feminism toward Arab Muslim

Women?
