The Role of the Prophetic Method in Regulating and Promoting the Ethics of the Judicial Profession

Objectives: The present study aims to clarify the role played by the Prophetic method in regulating and promoting the ethics of the judicial profession. Besides that, the study also elaborates on the concept of ethics, the characteristics, position and importance thereof in Islam. Moreover, light is also shed on the concept of work ethics, the domain and importance thereof as well as the judiciary and its relevance in Islam.
Methods: The study employes the descriptive method along with deductive and inductive approaches, as well.
Results:
Manners occupy an esteemed position in Islam given their role in regulating Muslims’ behavior.
The judiciary in Islam is one of the most important and sensitive branches of governance to which Islamic Shari’a has given utmost care.
Certain ethics must be embodied by practitioners of the judicial professions.
The prophetic method has a very important and pivotal role in regulating and promoting the ethics of the judicial profession.
Conclusions: The study affirms the importance of the judicial profession in achieving and ensuring justice through prophetic texts that are deemed sacred; hence, making their application to the judicial profession a decree that is sacred in and of itself.
