Sources of Work Pressure in the Palestinian Nursing Sector: A field Study in the Health institutions in Tulkarm City

This study aimed to identify the sources of work pressure that workers in the Palestinian nursing sector are exposed to; in addition to classifying them according to their relative importance and their level of strength that are branched into various confusing factors. They were classified in this study into four main sources; they are; (1) pressure of work environment (2) collective pressure (3) individual pressure and (4) organizational pressure. To achieve the purpose of the study, the researchers have conducted a questionnaire that consisted of 48 items which involved the four areas for work pressure sources. The questionnaire was distributed for a sample consisted of (171) workers. A descriptive statistical model was used. The findings of the study showed that there are (44) sources of pressures that cause a challenge for workers at Palestinian nursing sector in their turn. These sources are distributed to five main factors. Moreover, a communalities test was conducted and the communality factor between items was high and ranged between (0. 567 and 0. 919) . Communalities test for study aspects was conducted also, and referred to the social pressure as the strongest and the most cruciaL aspect as the variation rate for this variable to other ones (0. 91) , then the organizational pressure with a communality factor (0. 86) , then comes the individual pressure (0. 45) , and finally work environment (0. 15) only. The study has recommended that it’s essential to use up to date administrative approaches in dealing with workers in nursing sector, as administrative empowerment, management, setting aims and participation, using psychological unloading, involving their suggestion in the work plan , enhancing the employees’ involvement in their tasks by protecting them from risks, and adopting a fair system for both incomes and moral incentives.
