Challenges Facing Higher Education in Universities in North Jordan in light of Some Variables

The study aimed to identify the challenges facing higher education at the universities in North Jordan in light of some variables, from the viewpoint of faculty members; the study sample consisted of (267) members of the faculties at Yarmouk university, Jordan University of Science and Technology and Al al- Bayt University. To collect the data, the researcher developed a questionnaire consisting of70) items distributed on seven areas after assuring validity and reliability. The results indicated that the sample members estimated the degree of the challenges facing higher education at the universities of North Jordan showed a high degree, and the lack of statistically significant differences are at the significance level a = 0.05 attributed to academic rank , and the presence of significant differences at the significance level a = 0. 05 attributed to the college and in favor of faculties of science, and the existence of differences due to the variable of gender and in favor of the male , whereas the presence of differences due to the variable of university , are in favor to Al al- Bayt University. The study came out with a number of recommendations like: increase financial support for universities from the public and private sectors, and have more interest in employing technology in these universities.
