Abstract

This study aimed at clarifying the concept of social security and illustrating its importance. It also, aimed to clarify the concept of Islamic culture textbooks as well as their importance. The study then indicated the role of Islamic culture textbooks in promoting social security. To achieve such aims, the currentstudy adopted inductive and deductive approaches in terms of inducing the social security and Islamic culture textbooks concerns and clarifying them; and deducing the role of Islamic culture textbooks in the promotion of social security. The study consisted of two sections: the first one was concerning social security and Islamic culture textbooks conceptual framework, while, the second one was relating the role of Islamic culture textbooks in the promotion of social security. The study revealed a number of conclusions; the most important of them were as follows: the Social Security is an important requirement in the lives of individuals and communities in terms of keeping their security and stability. The role of Islamic culture textbooks in promoting social security, which is based on preparing and designing strategic plans to strengthen them through the integration of educational outcomes, content, activities, methods, means and evaluation. In light of the conclusions, the study recommended the following: the need to take appropriate procedures by curricula designers to include security concepts in the school curricula, particularly Social Security.
