The Philosophy of Citizenship among the Palestinian Youth: Students of the Gaza Universities as a Model

This study aims to find out the concept of citizenship among university students in the Gaza Strip, and discusses the concept of citizenship in the literatures of political thought, reasons of its rising and the most important principles and values related to citizenship.The paper explains the reality of citizenship in light of the internal Palestinian conflict and assumes the existence of a state of hesitation and duplication among Palestinian university students toward their awareness of the principles and values of citizenship. This study was based on the Analytical Descriptive Method to measure the clarity of dimensions, values and principles of citizenship among Palestinian university students by using a questionnaire as a field survey tool. A random sample was pre- determined according to the percentage of the number of students from each university and the percentage of male and female.The sample consisted of 1% out of the total number of student community which is 69,129 students.
