Small and Medium Entreprises as a Medium to Activate Local Development «Province of Tebessa as a Model»
Keywords:
small and medium enterprises, sustainable development, local development, Economic growthAbstract
It is obvious that small and medium enterprises play an important and
vital role in ensuring the continuation and sustainability of the economic
development. These kinds of enterprises constitute an important access to
the economic growth by creating jobs. The current trends aim to create an
adequate investment climate for these enterprises at the local level, and make
it easier for them to emerge and achieve success through the supply of the
necessary framework to establish and develop small and medium enterprises.
Algeria has sought to take a set of procedures in order to make the
role of small and medium enterprises more effective in the economic
development through establishing political and legal bases. The objective of
these procedures is the development of such enterprises all over the country
especially in the high plateaus like “Tebessa” in which Algeria is seeking to
support local development by taking advantage of the potentials offered by
small and medium enterprises. The latter is one of the factors that will help
the city “Wilaya” to be in harmony with the trend of national policy towards
economic diversification in order to realize a global and balanced national
development between various geographical regions.
