Abstract

This study aims to investigate more aspects about the Ottoman rule in

the AL- Lydd region in Palestine and to introduce a thorough and specialized

study about the educational situation in AL- Lydd region in the late Ottoman

era between 1864 to 917.

Many scholars wrote about the history of Palestine in the late Ottoman

era, but despite the significance of these studies, they were serving a general

purpose, that is, the history of Palestine in general during the Ottoman era

without depending on primary sources, especially the Ottoman documents

(Alsnamat) that are rich in information that can be beneficial for various

types of scholarly studies.

The importance of this study springs from its direct dependence on what

was written in the Ottoman Salnames (Year- Book) about the educational

aspects in the area of AL- Lydd in the latest era the Ottoman period
