High Schools Teachers’ evaluation Of School Life in Jerusalem District during the Second Intifada

The main purposes of the study were as follows:
(a) Defining the high school teacherss ratings of school life in Jerusalem
directorates and its suburbs during Al-Aqsa Intifada, and (b) Defining the role of
sex, teaching experience, location of the school, and classes taught by teachers in
these ratings .
The researchers developed a (31) likert scale items questionnaire to achieve the
purposes of the study, and presented it to a group of jury to ensure its validity and
applied Cronbach Alpha formula to calculate its reliability which it was (0.95) .
The questionnaire has been distributed to a random sample consisted of (158)
male and female teachers. To analyse data, the researchers used means, percentages,
“to independent test, One-Way ANOVA, and Schefee test for multiple comparisions.
The results of the study showed the followings:
1. Teachers ratings for most the questionnaire items were high and medium as
clues for the bad practices of the Israeli army on the school life during Al-
Aqsa Intifada.
2. There were statistical differences at the level of (? = 0.05) between high school
teacherss ratings of the school life during Al-Aqsa Intifida, on favour of male
teachers who suffered more.
3. There were no statistical differences at the level of (? = 0.05) between high
school teacherss ratings of the school life during Al-Aqsa Intifida, due to the
classes taught by those teachers.
4. There were statistical differences at the level of (? = 0.05) between high school
teacherss ratings of the school life during Al-Aqsa Intifida, due to the location
of schools, on favour of ones that locate outside the cities.
5. There were statistical differences at the level of (? = 0.05) between high school
teacherss ratings of the school life during Al-Aqsa Intifida, due to the number
of teaching experience years variable, on favour of teachers who had (11) years
of experience and more.
