Impact of Islam on the African society at the 10th century of the Hegira/ 16th century of the Christian era: the example of the Kingdom of Songhay

This study deals with an important historical theme. It is entitled: (Impact
of Islam on the African society in the 10th century of the Hijra/ 16th century:
Kingdom of Songhay as a Model) .
This study consists of three parts. The first part is about the birth of
the Kingdom of Songhay; the second examines the means which contributed
to the diffusion of Islam within the population of the Kingdom of Songhay.
The third part focuses on the effects of Islam on the society of the Kingdom
of Songhay. In the conclusion, I summarized the results of the search and I
suggest a number of recommendations. This study showed that Islam deeply
transformed the society to be a real Islamic society as any other Islamic
societies.
