The Life, Work and Methodology of Imam Ibn Al- Munther al- Nisaboori

This research aimed to identify the life, work and the methodology of
a prominent Muslim figures in Islamic sharia′, Imam Ibn Al- Munther al-
Nisaboori. The purpose of this paper is getting benefits from Al- Munther′s
life as a scholar, knowing a number of his works and the place of their
availability, revising those which are not revised, and discovering his own
methodology and makes them accessible to researchers and students. The
research is divided into six topics and a conclusion. The first was devoted to
the name of Ibn Al- Munther, his nickname, birth, lineage and his death; the
second is about his upbringing, morals, travels and his pursuit for education;
the third mentions his teachers, his disciples and his influence; the fourth
shows his position as a great scholar, his evaluation by his colleagues and his
jurisprudence school; the fifth is about his writings; sixth is his methodology
in his writings. The research ends with a conclusion.
