This study has explained the role of students-graduate research of
Administrative and economic sciences program at Al-Quds Open University
in supporting the industrial sector through the establishment of links and
coordination between the university and the industrial sector, as it was
visualized from the point of view of QOU academic supervisors, who are
incharge of supervising graduation research. The sample size of this study
consist of 36 academic supervisors, 21 of them are Ph.D holders while the
rest of them or 15 are masters degree, covering 9 educational regions from
West Bank from a total population of 142 academic supervisors. The study
figured out through the questionnaire and the interviews interpretation that
QOU did not pay an adequate attention, and/or interest in studentss
researches. It was also revealed that professional relationship between these
firms and QOU are not in the required level. Since the industrial sector
showed out no interest to rely on QOU experience in such researches. It was
also noted that students did not give actual interest in researching in this
sector, and consider the aim of such researches is for passing the subject
only. This was confirmed through the acceptance of research null hypotheses
results. Which revealed that there are no significant differences among
respondent’s perceptions regarding the role of such researches in QOU in
supporting the industrial sectorss firms. This matter was the same, except in
two fields only according to specializing independent variable, which means
that some academic staff wishes to promote cooperative relationships with
industrial sector. These were in the fields of minimizing the gab in knowledge
and technology between QOU and the industrial sector firms. This variation
was in favored of production, finance and marketing fields, which are
considered as the major pillar that serves these firms.
