Evaluation of Al-Quds Open University’s Final Examinations in Accordance with Fulfill Bloom‘s Cognitive Objectives

This study aimed to identify if the final exams‘ questions at Al-Quds Open
University fulfill Bloom‘s cognitive objectives. To achieve this aim, the
researchers analysed (133) final exams. The results showed the following:
1 . The (81%) of the final exams questions focused on knowledge level of
Bloom‘s cognitive objectives.
2 . There were statistical significance differences between subjective and
objective questions on the levels of cognitive goals: knowledge,
comprehension, analysis, and evaluation, in favor of the knowledge
level in objective questions, and in favor of the other levels in subjective
questions . Also, the results showed no statistical significance
differences between subjective and objective questions in application
level .
3 . There were statistical significance differences between the exams
questions of the academic programmes in cognitive objective levels:
knowledge, comprehension, application, and synthesis. But, no
statistical significance differences between the exams questions of
the academic programmes in cognitive objective levels: analysis, and
evaluation.
4 . There were statistical significance differences between final exam
questions of various specializations in favor of the cognitive objective
levels: knowledge, application and synthesis, but no statistical
significance differences between the exam questions of various
specializations in favor of the cognitive objective levels:
comprehension, : analysis, and evaluation .
