The Effectiveness of Using Concept Mapping on Students’ Achievement in Environmental Education Course and their Attitudes towards it at Al- Zaytoonah University of Jordan

This study aimed at investigating the effectiveness ofusing concept
mapping on students’ achievementin the “Environmental Education Course
and their Attitudes towards it at Al- Zaytoonah University of Jordan.”The
study sample consisted of two groups: the experimental group (n=35) which
was taught by concept mapping, and the control group (n=34) which was
taught bythe traditional method.To achieve the objective of the study, the
researcherdeveloped an achievement test andattitudes questionnaire.The
results have shown that there was a statistically significant difference
(α≤0.05) on students’ achievement and their attitudes towardsthe
“Environmental Education” course attributed to the teaching strategy in
favor ofthe concept mapping.The study recommended thatconcept mapping
be usedat university as an instructional strategy.
