Difficulties in the Study of History and the Suggested Solutions

This study aimed to identify difficulties in the study of history and the
proposed solutions, from the viewpoint of history teachers.To achieve this
goal, researchers used an instrument consisted of two parts (resolution and
open questions) and confirmed the veracity of the study and tool stability.The
test instrument was applied on a sample of history teachers of 92 males and
females from the Directorate of Education in Bani Kenana, and Directorate
of Education in Ramtha.
The study found that the more the difficulties of the study of history,
the more the difficulties related to the teacher himself.History teachers may
provide the following to overcome these difficulties:
The importance of enriching the history book by activities and teaching
aids.
Theater history books with a dramatic style.
The preparation of websites at the end of each lesson.
The results also show that (78%) of history teachers studied the
specialization without desire, while the rest (22%) studied the history with
desire.The results indicated that (87%) of history teachers still use traditional
methods and (13%) of history teachers use different educational methods.
Students preferred discussion, questioning, analysis, survey, and team work.
The results showed that all history teachers used the traditional method of
evaluating their students, that is, the traditional exam with its tools of paper
and pen.
