Superstitious Thinking and its Relationship with General Self- Efficacy in the Light of some Variables among Students at Yarmouk University in Jordan

Abstract

 

The study aimed at finding out the relationship between Superstitious

thinking and general self- efficacy among undergraduate Students at Yarmouk

University in light of some variables.The sample consisted of (218) students

(48) male, and (170) female who were randomly selected from the faculty of

education.Two instruments were used: The superstitious thinking scale and

general self- efficacy scale.The results showed that the level of Superstitious

thinking among the sample was low, and the level of superstitious thinking

among males was higher than females.No statistical relationship was found

between superstitious thinking and general self- efficacy, and no statistical

significant differences in superstitious thinking level due to income were

detected ; but there were statistically significant differences in superstitious

thinking due to academic achievement in favor of very good level of

achievement.
