Composition Skills in the Arabic Reading Textbooks for the Basic Stage In Jordan

This study aimed at investigating the composition skills in the Arabic
reading Textbooks in the grades 7th, 8th, and 9th in Jordan. The study tried to
answer the following questions:
First: To what extent do the Arabic reading textbooks of grades 7th ,8th
and 9th include compositions skills?.
Second: How are the composition skills distributed between the grades
7th, 8th, and 9th?
Third: To what extent are the composition skills suitable for each grade?
To achieve the aims of the study the researcher investigated the reliability
and the validity of the instrument, and then analyzed the content of a sample
of the reading textbooks of grades 7th, 8th and 9th,using the form prepared for
analysis and then put the result in tables.
The results of the study showed a development in these skills and their
distribution in the different classes and it was noticed that these skills
increased from one class to another.This is noticed through the increase in
the 8th grade more than the 7th grade and in the 9th grade more than the 8th
grade.
This development in the skills from one class to another go with the
school stage to each grade in the stage.The study results showed also the
suitability of the writing skills to each class.
