The Effect of Using Feedback in Improving the Listening Skill among Students of the Fifth Basic Grade in Jordan

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of using feedback for
improving listening skill in cooperative learning among fifth basic grade
students. To achieve this aim the researchers developed two instruments: the
listening achievement test, and teacher guide which consists of the goals of
the feedback as well as working cards.
The sample of the study consists of (72) male and female students from
the public schools in Al- Mafraq Educational Directorate. For the purposes
of the study two experimental groups (males and females) are chosen
according to cooperative learning strategy without feedback, and another
two experimental groups, one for males and the other for females were taught
according to cooperative learning strategy with feedback.
The findings of the study showed that there are significant statistical
differences at the level of (α =0. 05) due to the effect of the method used in
listening skills. The findings were in favor of the experimental group. The
findings also showed that there are no significant statistical differences at
the level of (α =0. 05) due to gender. Moreover, that there are no significant
statistical differences at the level of (α =0. 05) due to the interaction between
the method and gender.
