Top Management Use of Time Management Strategies at Private and Public Organizations in Jenin and Qalqilia

The purpose of this research paper has been to figure out up to what
extent can top management level make use of time management strategies
in their daily work, in (Jenin and Qalqilia) cities of both private and public
organization. How could this level improve the use of their time efficiently
and effectively through the use of certain strategies. For achieving this goal
the researchers has employed the personal interview by visiting some of the
subject firms of the study, in addition to that a questionnaire was constructed
which consist of 67 variables, and was distributed to 71 respondents; 36 of
which from the public sector while the remaining 35 from the private sector.
Findings illustrated the agreement of the respondents for the usage of time
management strategies in its lower extent, while the respondents hesitated
to use both “time +100 percent” and “tough it once” strategies. Wasting
time factors were classified and ranked from most to least, as phone calls,
paper work, lack of clear plans and objectives, the use of pieces of papers
instead of dairy, lack of listing daily duties. Also the study clarified that there
were a significant differences of using the strategy pertain to “create and
develop your important list strategy” according to respondents’ age, nature
of work, specifically for the young leadership employees. Furthermore the
study showed a similar significant differences between “time +100 percent
strategy” according to sex and, moreover significant was registered for “ keep
your must do list limited strategy” according to both distance of residence
from work place and experience. However the study showed that female like
to double their time while performing their duties , also findings of the study
showed that usage of “keep your must do list limited strategy” differentiated
according to distance of residence from work place which cause the delay
of work performance efficiently and effectively, while for those who are rich
with experience are using a short and limited list of duties.
